I spent the entire long weekend battling a cold--sore throat that turned into fever, headache and cough. Upper respiratory infection has always been my Achilles' heel from childhood--probably because I have a tonsil that works overtime to fend off the bugs I come into contact. I was probably in bed 80% of the time, and garnered just enough energy to get something to eat in between. Thanks to all the friends and colleagues who have sent me SMS messages and called, though.
This is the only time I think to myself, "It would be really nice to be married, so someone else would be here to take care of me!" However, once I get well and come to my senses, I know chances are I will be taking care of the other person when he is not feeling well, more than the other way around. I suppose studying public health has not been a waste of time after all--at least I know which medicine to get at the drugstore.
